I was watching Downsize me on Discovery Home and Health last night and learned a thing or two about cravings.
Cravings is our body’s way of telling us that it lacks some needed nutrients. Poor food choices and unnecessary junk can be avoided if we know what our body really needs.
1. Have you ever had that feeling that you want to eat something but you don’t know exactly what it is you’re craving for? Well, it’s just because your body needs WATER. Try to gulp atleast 2 glasses of water before binging in search of the unknown.
2. Sweet cravings are caused by lack of calcium in one’s diet. Instead of chocolates, ice creams or candies, opt for green leafy vegetables or a cup of yogurt.
3. If its savory food you’re craving for, what your body really needs is magnesium! Nuts, tofu, fish and whole grain/wheat bread are examples of magnesium-rich foods.
Amazing isn’t it? So the next time you feel that urge, just remember these notes and shake off extra pounds in the process.
